Senator Chuck Weaver says the convening of the 101st General Assembly January 9 signals a renewed commitment to facing the challenges and welcoming the opportunities awaiting Illinois.
The 37th District Senator participated in inaugural ceremonies in the Senate Chambers. He has served in the Senate since 2015.
“Representing the residents of the 37th Senate District in Springfield is a responsibility I do not take lightly,” Senator Weaver said. “I was born and raised in this region, and share its values and goals. Working together, we will continue to make our ideas and concerns part of the statewide dialogue.”
Senator Weaver says fiscal responsibility, strong education systems, bipartisan pension reform and common-sense economic growth initiatives will help boost jobs and restore prosperity to Illinois communities.
“With a new year and a new General Assembly, we need to take a hard look at long-time policies and determine what works and what needs to be improved. We must make changes that will boost our economy, and stem the loss of jobs and population,” Senator Weaver said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues from both parties and both legislative chambers to help Illinois realize its potential.”
The 37th District includes all or part of Bureau, Lee, LaSalle, Knox, Stark, Marshall, Woodford, Mercer, Peoria and Henry counties. Senator Weaver’s office is located at 5415 North University Suite 105, Peoria, IL 61614 (309-693-4921). His e-mail address is Chuck@senweaver.com and his Web site is http://senatorweaver.com/.
