GOP wants legislative input: Illinois Senate Minority Leader Bill Bradysays his caucus believes the governor is on firm ground to carry out the emergency stay-at-home orders. He says the two Republicans filing suits are doing so on their own accord. But, he told Playbook, he thinks it's time for the state Legislature to return to Springfield to help manage how the state is being run during the pandemic. Our caucus also believes we've reached this point in time when the governor shouldn't have to bear the burden of governing all by himself. And if the local grocery store can meet safely and not put customers or employees at risk, then certainly the General Assembly can meet, too. For the governor to go it alone isn't fair to the governor or the people of Illinois.
